The Librarian Villager is a non-player character (NPC) in the sandbox video game *Minecraft*. They are a type of Villager identifiable by their unique appearance.

Librarian Villagers are distinguished by their white robes. This signifies their profession as a librarian, reflected in their role within villages. These villagers have books within their possession, and are willing to trade the books for emeralds, the common currency of villagers, or accept paper or other items as trades for emeralds.

Villagers, including the Librarian, were first introduced in *Minecraft* Beta 1.9 Prerelease 2. The addition of villagers greatly enhanced the game by creating living, breathing villages and allowing interactions between the player and the villagers.
